Enhancing Marginalized People’s Opportunities with Equity, Rights, Mentorship, and Engagement for Nation-building and Transformation
The EMPOWERMENT project is working under Nagorikata Civic Engagement Fund program by addressing critical gaps in governance, access to service, gender equality, social inclusion and conflict resolution in CHT. By empowering local Civil Society Organization (CSOs) Community Based Organization (CBOs) and marginalized communities the project aims to bridge the gap between rights holders and government agencies. The region existing processes in governance and development often fail to adequately represent indigenous communities’ women and youth. Therefore, the project prioritizes and focus on increasing marginalized community participation in decision-making processes, advocacy and policy influence. The project is also addressing implementation gaps by improving the governance system, access to public services, gender equality, social inclusion, capacity to local CSOs, CBOs and marginalized communities. As a result, it will enhance the interaction between CSOs-CBOs and local government institutions, creating a more responsive and inclusive governance system that addresses the need of marginalized communities
